A Chronicler in Night City, Where Movies Have Disappeared

《Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2》places movie buff Roman Carax in a Night City where braindance has pushed movies aside. He tries to follow other people’s lives and record the truth, but the stories of this city do not resolve into neat endings like the movies he loves. The “Something Real” sneak peek focuses on what “real” means to him as he tries to hold on to it in an environment overflowing with violence and stimulation.

A Standalone 10-Episode Series, with New Characters in Conflict

This is a standalone 10-episode series that shares the world of its predecessor while unfolding around new characters. Edgerunner Weak, past his prime, lives without chrome while searching for a purpose, and nomad netrunner D hunts the killer who destroyed his clan. As Roman’s desire to document becomes entangled with their revenge and survival, it adds the question of who records whose story, and through what perspective.

Production Team and Release Schedule

Kai Ikarashi directs, with CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER producing. Roman’s Japanese voice actor is Momoka Terasawa. Netflix has set the release date for October 20, 2026. Rather than a continuation of the previous series, this season explores family, obsession, and legacy through a new group of characters in Night City.
