Insighful Look at 007 First Light's World, Characters, Concent & VFX

007 First Light does not begin with a fully formed 007, but with 26-year-old James Bond entering an MI6 training program. A former Royal Navy aircrewman, Bond joins the revived 00 program after a heroic act, but his first mission—to stop a rogue agent—ends in tragedy. The story then centers on his reluctant partnership with mentor John Greenway as they uncover a coup plot targeting the heart of the state.

Between Infiltration and Going in Guns Blazing

Missions do not force you into a single solution. You can gather information by eavesdropping, steal keycards from guards, and find alternate routes using clues in the environment, while also choosing to go in guns blazing with firearms and equipment. The structure the developers call “Creative Approach” lets you solve the same objective by combining stealthy infiltration, disguise and persuasion, and forceful breakthroughs.

Movement and Pursuit in the Spy Game

The game is a third-person single-player action-adventure that combines close-quarters combat, gunfights, spy gadgets, and vehicle handling. Missions unfold in contrasting locations, from infiltrating a chess tournament in Slovakia to entering a gala in Kensington, London, and also include high-speed chases and large-scale action in the air. Its defining feature is how it balances the choices of a stealth game with Bond’s signature pursuits and action within a single title.

A Standalone Story with a New Face

Rather than being a direct adaptation of an existing film, this is an original standalone story, with Patrick Gibson playing a young Bond. Priyanga Burford’s M, Alistair Mackenzie’s Q, Kiera Lester’s Moneypenny, and Lennie James’s Greenway also appear. IO Interactive collaborated with Amazon MGM Studios, while IO Interactive developed and published the game itself.
