Dreamland | Official Trailer | Crunchyroll
Dreamland is an animated series about Terrence, a teenager traumatized by the fire that killed his mother, who becomes a traveler in a world born from dreams and nightmares. After confronting his fear
The Boy Who Fled from Fire Becomes a “Traveler”
Terrence, the protagonist of *Dreamland*, becomes extremely afraid of fire after losing his mother in a fire. Repeating the event as a nightmare every time he falls asleep, he realizes one night that he is dreaming and finally decides not to run from the flames. This choice does more than simply help him overcome his fear: it transforms him into a “traveler” who can move between dream worlds.
A Setting Where Real-World Wounds Become Powers in Dreams
Dreamland is another world born from people’s dreams and nightmares. For Terrence, the fire that was a trauma in reality becomes a power he can control here. Rather than focusing on eliminating fear, the work centers on the process of stepping into another world while carrying that fear with you. His everyday life at school, his relationships with friends, and his feelings for his late mother also form the pillars of this adventure.
An Animated Adaptation of a French Comic
Based on the French comic by Reno Lemaire, this series is directed by Juan Pablo Machado and produced by Ellipse and La Chouette Compagnie. It is scheduled to air in Japan on October 17, 2026, while Crunchyroll has announced that streaming will begin on October 16. In the Japanese version, Terrence is voiced by Shō Hatano and Eve by Asami Tano.
