A Small Hero Faces Ten Kingdoms

The protagonist of *Messi and the Giants*, Leo, is an ordinary 12-year-old boy living in Argentina. He is suddenly transported to the fantasy world of Iko, where he discovers that this once-thriving place has collapsed under the rule of giants who control its ten kingdoms. The central conflict of the story is Leo, who is tiny compared with the giants, standing up to the forces oppressing them.

The teaser released introduces the series’ title character and logo for the first time. The show is not a biographical account of the real Messi, but an original animated work that places a boy inspired by Messi in a separate sci-fi and fantasy world. Rather than being a story about solving problems through soccer skills alone, it focuses on his growth as he builds a team and finds strength in the face of adversity.

Sony Music Vision and Sony Pictures Television – Kids are involved in the production, while Atlantis Animation of the Canary Islands serves as the animation studio. Dan Creteur directs, and Guy Toubes oversees the writing. Disney Branded Television said it plans to premiere the 22-minute episodes on Disney Channel before releasing the series on Disney+.
