Reclusive country music star Misty Jones returns to Nashville to find her missing niece, Charlie Hart. The trailer for the Netflix film *Heartland* presents Misty, back in front of the public after a long absence, tracking down her niece while confronting the darker side of the music city she once left behind.

Jessica Chastain plays Misty. Charlie Hart is played by Carter Faith, a real-life country singer-songwriter, while Garrett Hedlund, Ross Lynch, Jennifer Nettles, and John Hawkes also appear. The trailer also includes a scene in which Misty and Winnie Jo Lin sing the film's title song together.

The film is directed and written by Shana Feste of *Country Strong*. The story combines a mystery following a disappearance with country music performances, foreshadowing a structure in which Misty must face not only other people's secrets but also her own past. The Netflix release date is November 13, 2026.
