The Body is an eight-episode drama about Catholic school dance-team girls whose prophetic visions after a disastrous initiation trigger mass hysteria in their town. Created and showrun by Quinn Shepha

An Initiation Ceremony Accident Spreads Fear Through the Town

*The Body* begins when the girls on a Catholic school’s dance team start seeing prophetic visions after an accident occurs during their initiation ceremony. As personal secrets and tensions within the school build, they eventually find themselves at the center of a mass hysteria sweeping through the entire town. Netflix’s official description classifies the work as an eight-episode series.

At the Intersection of a Coming-of-Age Drama and Mystery

The story is set on Halloween night. After the dance team’s ritual goes awry, Catholic guilt, suppressed desires, and ghostly visions all surge in at once, intertwining the relationships of a school drama with the ominous currents of a mystery. Rather than simply telling a story about resolving supernatural phenomena, the central premise also explores how the girls endure questions of faith and identity, as well as the way they view one another.

Quinn Shephard’s First TV Series

Creator Quinn Shephard serves as showrunner and directs the first episode. The main cast includes Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, and Geena Meszaros, with Nnamdi Asomugha, Louisa Krause, Shirley Chen, Jackson Kelly, and Sofia Wylie also appearing. North Road and Felix Culpa are involved in the production, and the U.S. Netflix release date is November 11, 2026.
