MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls | Phoenix Cyclops Gameplay Trailer
Phoenix Cyclops joins MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls as its first Year 1 DLC character on November 2, 2026. Optic Blasts build Solar Shards for a Dark Phoenix transformation, trading a major power boost
Phoenix Cyclops will be added on November 2 as the first Year 1 DLC character for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Rather than focusing solely on ranged pressure, the character is built around stacking attacks and connecting them into a powerful transformation. ‘Classic’ and ‘Legacy’ DLC costumes will also be available that day.
Unlocking Dark Phoenix with Solar Shards
Phoenix Cyclops is designed as an all-rounder who uses optic blasts at both long and close range. While mixing projectiles, rushes, grabs, and deployable techniques, the character accumulates Solar Shards, the Phoenix Force’s energy. Collecting four allows Phoenix Cyclops to transform into Dark Phoenix.
The greater the power, the greater the burden
Dark Phoenix provides a temporary but significant boost in power, while carrying the risk of reducing the character’s health. So it is not enough simply to gather Shards; players must also judge when to transform and how much health remains. The form can control a wide area of the screen with large-scale flame attacks, but an ill-timed transformation can create an opening for a comeback.
Why choose this version of Phoenix?
This character was inspired by the Phoenix Five version from 《Avengers vs. X-Men》. The development team chose this interpretation to create a visual impression and fighting style distinct from the Cyclops familiar from existing fighting games, with Ray Chase providing the voice.
The base game originally launched in the United States on August 6, 2026, and in South Korea, Japan, and Australia on August 7. In the 4v4 tag fighting game available on PS5 and PC, the first additional fighter joins the roster with a high-risk, high-reward transformation system.
