Two Very Different Sisters Switch Places

The Christmas Switch is a romantic comedy that begins when two sisters swap lives a few weeks before Christmas. With personalities and lifestyles that differ greatly, they find themselves confronting the choices and relationships they had put off while navigating unfamiliar routines. The story centers not simply on changing their circumstances, but on seeing the lives they once knew from a different position.

The film’s Swedish original title is *Bara till jul*. Felice Jankell and Happy Jankell are real-life sisters who also play sisters in the film. Christian Fandango Sundgren and Celie Sparre also appear in key roles, expanding the relationships with the people the two protagonists encounter in their respective lives.

Adam Pålsson directed the film, which was produced by Breakable Films AB. Based on Eleonor Sager’s audiobook *Jul i Sankt Anna*, the film carries the original’s starting point—its community and family relationships just before Christmas—into the cinematic premise of two sisters swapping places.

Set for release through Netflix, the film explores the gap between the life each sister wanted and the life she must actually handle through their exchanged routines. Within the seasonal atmosphere of a year-end romantic comedy, it stands out by placing both the sisters’ relationship and their life choices at the forefront.
