Gaston’s plan to take over the princesses’ kingdoms is thwarted by Ariel, Moana, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Snow White. But he does not back down, bringing in Ursula, Jafar, and the Evil Queen to form a new alliance to bring down the princesses. LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite is a 26-minute animated special centered on this confrontation.

With the help of the Magic Mirror, the princesses find Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella and expand their team. Rather than following one princess through her original world, the central concept is a crossover in which different Disney Princess characters respond to the same threat. With three villains also joining Gaston’s plan, the story develops as a confrontation between two factions rather than a series of individual battles.

The voice cast includes Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, Jodi Benson as Ariel, Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, and Auli'i Cravalho as Moana. Richard White plays Gaston, and Jonathan Freeman plays Jafar. The Disney+ title page lists Randi Rodrigues as the director and describes the genres as action, adventure, comedy, animation, and fantasy.
