Avengers: Secret Wars Set for North American Release on December 17, 2027

The Russo brothers' Avengers: Secret Wars, featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and closing the Multiverse Saga, opens in North America on December 17, 2027.

〈Avengers: Secret Wars〉 is the latest Avengers film and the concluding chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase Six and Multiverse Saga. It follows 〈Avengers: Doomsday〉, scheduled for release in December 2026, and takes its name from the original 〈Secret Wars〉 comic book series. The plot has not been revealed.

The Russo brothers, directors of 〈Avengers: Infinity War〉 and 〈Endgame〉, will direct, with Stephen McFeely serving as a screenwriter. In July 2024, alongside the announcement of the directors, it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. had been cast as Doctor Doom.

The film was initially discussed for a 2025–2026 release but was delayed several times. In May 2025, its schedule was adjusted alongside 〈Doomsday〉, moving it from May 7 to December 17, 2027. Filming is scheduled to begin at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom in late 2026.

Distributed by Disney, the film will be released in North America on December 17, 2027. A domestic release date has not been announced.
