《Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2》tells the story of new characters trying to survive in Night City, unfolding as a standalone 10-episode series rather than directly continuing with the protagonist of the previous installment. The official introduction centers on Week, a veteran edgerunner who has lost his former reputation, and D, a netrunner tracking down the culprit who massacred his clan.
Week was once called “King,” but now lives without chrome and searches for purpose in a world that no longer needs him. D, meanwhile, is a technician from the Snake Nation who pursues revenge and draws closer to a secret hidden by corporations. The two characters, who begin from very different starting points, meet in a city where corporate power and violence are intertwined, forming the season’s central conflict.
The new characters also have clearly defined roles. Roman seeks to record the “real story” in a city where braindance has replaced movies, while Talia is introduced as someone raised in the corporate world but hardened within gang culture. It is a story of individual memories and records, and the desire for revenge, intersecting within the same city.
The series is co-produced by CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER, and directed by Kai Ikarashi. The voice cast includes Kentaro Tone (Week), Koki Uchiyama (D), Momoka Terasawa (Roman), and Akari Kito (Talia). Netflix will release it exclusively on October 20, 2026.
