Ebenezer, starring Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge, is a new film adaptation of Charles Dickens’s *A Christmas Carol*. While it follows the classic framework of Scrooge reflecting on his life through encounters with ghosts, the film foregrounds the protagonist’s name in its condensed title.

The film is directed by Ti West, known for *X* and *Pearl*, with a screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern. The official cast includes Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Tramell Tillman, and Ian McKellen. The film’s distinct production feature is that a director known for horror films is tackling a familiar Christmas classic.

This is the trailer’s length, not the feature film’s runtime; the film will be released theatrically in the United States on November 13, 2026. The publicly released crew and cast information shows that the film centers on the classic protagonist while assembling a large ensemble cast.
